Getting to the top

As you enter Zion Canyon, mouth agape and awestruck at the mammoth rising walls of rock above you, it’s hard to fathom anything more fantastic. Following the Virgin River, which can be credited with carving out the amazing sights around you, the park road snakes up the canyon to some of the most unique hiking trails you can find in this area. Some people are in it for the toughest hike they can find, while others just want to see the pretty views. If you’re like me, you want both. And Angel’s Landing will give you plenty of column A and more of column B than you could ever want.

You can take the park shuttle and hop off at The Grotto trailhead, taking the West Rim Trail toward Angel’s Landing. Staring up at the rock walls, you follow the trail with your eyes and realize you’re in for a climb right from the start. The narrow trail takes you around the edge of a quickly deepening chasm to your right before it switches back, taking you higher. You then come to a series of switchbacks that leave your legs burning as you search for any shade to stop and cool down.

Shade and cool temperatures await you as you turn into Refrigerator Canyon. A nice break from the sun and the steep grade, this canyon has high walls and some narrow passages. Just when you started enjoying the flat ground you come upon Walter’s Wiggles, a series of tight switchbacks that take you to the upper ridge of the canyon. You’ll want a little rest after this, which you can take very soon at Scout’s Lookout. Here you can see Angel’s Landing stretching out over the canyon.

Here’s the part you’ve been waiting for. A chain weaves its way up a steep section of rock in front of you, leading you along the last section of the trail. You will follow this chain over narrow fins where you can see deep into the canyon on either side. If you’re at all scared of heights, you probably shouldn’t look down. Or up. Or to your sides. You scramble over large boulders, inch your way along narrow footpaths, and push your way up steep climbs until the end is in sight.

The final fin of Angel’s Landing stretches out in front of you, sporting a single tree in the center of the path. This leads to the highest point at 1500 feet above the canyon floor, and the most breathtaking view in the park. You see the Virgin River and the entire canyon laid out before you. This is where you sit and take it in. Take out your sandwich and your trail mix and kick back. The rocks are comfortable, and the sun feels nice while you’re relaxing.

Can’t miss adventure cruises!

Format Image

I had never considered going on a cruise before now and didn’t quite understand the appeal. I was definitely a skeptic. Why would you want to stay in the same place, same people and same food for the whole of your holiday and still have to pay a crap load for alcohol? We only get a certain amount of time free each year to dedicate to travel so I was slightly apprehensive as to what I had let myself in for.

How wrong could I have been?!

First I didn’t have a big budget so I decided to find out how to sneak alcohol on a cruise ship. I went to several different blogs and even Amazon bu they just kept giving me the runaround. Finally I settled upon two sites. The first one had a really good idea as to concealing your alcohol and the other showed me me practically the same thing, it was

Walking up the ramp I was struck in awe at the sheer size of the thing. This was my first cruise – I didn’t know what to expect. Unless you live by the coast it’s unlikely you will get to see one of these cruise liners up close, but boy are they impressive. A friendly greeting followed and I made my way to my my quarters. I’ve got to admit I had all the nautical themed jokes running though my head, thinking about rum, wondering if that captain would show us a map marked “X” or ask me to walk the plank… I felt like a giddy

After resisting the urge to jump up and down on the bed I made my way out to have a look around the ship. They had everything here. Within a few minutes I had found the gym and spa, then slightly further along the pool and signs to a rock climbing wall. Given this was my first cruise I wanted to check out as much as possible and made a mental note to come back here – rock climbing being one of my favorite hobbies. I saw signs for the movie theaters, night clubs – even a full sized running track! I ear-marked some good looking bars and carried on, eager to find out what else was here. After a few minutes aimlessly walking, I got talking to a nice couple from the USA. They were cruise veterans, and seemed very happy to talk to me about what I needed to do and what to see. Highly recommended was the glass bottom viewing gallery. Given this was my first cruise I made a mental note of as much as possible and promised them I’d find them later for a drink. (I actually ended up narrowly losing to them in a mini-golf best of 3 the next day – can’t beat experience!)

Later that evening I had some amazing food and wine, and watching the sunset from the viewing deck. It felt totally surreal and very calming. The weather was great, the destinations were fantastic and I was in full relaxation mode from the moment I set foot on deck.

Looking back at it now this was what made my first cruise very special, the people I met, the activities I did, and the relaxation I wanted, when I wanted it. It’s easy for people to mock it and say they would get bored but I’d challenge that, for me at least, it simply wasn’t true. There was everything there I needed, all in close proximity, for a relaxing time away. Away from the daily grind. It’s a totally new world, and I would recommend to anyone.

Craving an extreme getaway?

After a week of hard work, spending your days in the office and your nights trying to catch up to sleep, there is nothing better than going on an extreme getaway for a weekend. Whitewater rafting is an activity that can be enjoyed over a one or two-day trip, half-day, or multiple days. It’s perfect to get into nature, spend time away from the daily grind and get the heart racing.

As far as extreme goes, you can choose the level of extreme in whitewater rafting. That’s one of the benefits of whitewater rafting; there are different levels of classification to determine how difficult a rafting river is. If you are inexperienced in rafting, you can stick to the lower levels and still have a great time, or if you are looking to get wet and have your heart pumping, you can choose a higher level to enjoy. It all depends on your level of comfort and level of skill. Most rivers require a rafting guide for your trip, so if you do want a harder level you can be sure that the guide will help out.

You can challenge yourself physically with a whitewater rafting trip. Although you can take an easy rafting trip, there are the higher ranked rivers that will provide a real physical challenge. Rafters need to work together to get the raft going properly, using balance to stay inside during the whole experience. Not only is it physically challenging, but it is mentally challenging as well. With hard work and teamwork, you can get through obstacles that might look like they are impossible to get through, building confidence along the way. Running a difficult set of rapids successful is a rewarding feeling.

There’s also the chance to bond with the fellow rafters as well, getting to know them as you float down the river, making jokes and enjoying the time outdoors. If this is time for you to spend with your family, you will create memories that everyone will talk about for years to come.
Another benefit is that you are going to become well educated about nature and the environment. Since you will be surrounded by the wilderness, you can see the impact of pollution, development and many other issues that become personal after experiencing it first-hand. Your rafting guide will be able to tell you facts and information about the area, giving you details that the guide knows because of being an experienced rafter in the area.

As an extreme getaway, consider whitewater rafting to be one of the top ideas for a trip. It is a rewarding getaway that will get your heart racing, challenging your mind and body while you enjoy the great outdoors. It’s a great way to bond with those rafting with you, whether it’s friends, family, colleagues or people you just met. Getting out and experiencing something new and thrilling, while learning about the area you are in, is a rewarding experience in itself. Many people participate in whitewater rafting trips every year, ensuring it is a safe and enjoyable time for everyone.

México is one of the most outstanding countries for tourist attractions. Thousands of people from all over the world come here to enjoy their holidays with their family. Mexico has to its wonderful credit several extraordinary places making it one of the highly popular tourist destinations in the world. Mexico is a great location to enjoy your holidays at affordable price. Especially if you are an adventurer then you must visit Mexico. There are innumerable adventure locations that would test your skills and thrill you. It is also a safe country providing you ample of opportunities to explore your needs.

I love bungee jumping to the core and have done it several times during my adventure travel to various places around the world. This is one of my experiences of bungee jumping at Monterrey. When it comes to bungee jumping the best place to think of would be Monterrey. It is also an ideal place for river rafting.

Bungee jumping is one of the most daring sports and only those who are not worried about heights can enjoy it completely. Normally, you are fitted with a seat and chest harness which is connected to fixed elastic wire ropes that helps you to swing like a pendulum after the free fall. Bungee jump is not for everybody as it involves terrible experience. Only if you are sure that you will be alright you should go for a jump. Your physical health must be perfectly alright and you should have the courage to free fall. There are several bungee jump accidents that have occurred during the past in various places around the world and hence it is up to you to decide and go for the jump. In some places faulty equipment has been major reason for such accidents. Before you go for the jump make sure that all your equipment and cords are proper and that everything is perfectly fine.

The ideal time to visit is during September to November and from February to May. If you are planning to visit Mexico never miss to be here.
